I am but a shadow.
I started life dark and bold,
As I went on, got older and saw this world, I faded.
Slowly but surely, paler and paler.
I walk down this road
I notice my shadow begins to die,
As I walk closer to the light.
Under it, I completely melt away.
Gone from my limbo between life and death.
I am no one, I am nothing, from nowhere,
And for once I am happy.
But then I walk further,
and the light begins to dim.
The darkness takes over
And my shadowy form appears once more.
My flat, dark silhouette has no face,
no features, and no future.
I am stuck, stuck here for now, maybe forever.
And there’s nowhere I can go,
and there is nothing I can do.
